2021
Dear friends, volunteers, donors and financing entities:
As I do every year, please allow me to present to you the Annual Activity Report for the year 2021 that has already passed. I hope that it serves you to find out about the activities developed by FABRE. I hope as well that you rejoice with us for so many wonderful things that have been accomplished with the help of all of you.
When I am writing this, we are immersed in a painful situation of war between Ukraine and Russia. The poverty in which many people live will be aggravated by this conflict’s collateral damages, both in these countries and in many others around the world. It seems that the fight against poverty never ends…

Volunteering is essential in FABRE: the engagement of our volunteers with the most vulnerable, their professionalism and efficiency, ensuring that FABRE succeeds in its programs and initiatives.
FABRE Foundation looks to facilitate participation and communal living spaces. We belong to REDI (Network for the Development of Ibero-American countries), National Association of Foundations and NGO Coordinators from Navarra, Galicia, Madrid and Castilla y León. We invite volunteers to participate in programs with different groups, giving place to once-in-a-lifetime experiences rewarding to both sides and establishing bases for personal growth.
In 2021, FABRE worked with 149 volunteers linked to projects implemented from different provincial offices:
On the 27th, 28th and 29th of December, 2021 the project chosen as the most innovative, sustainable and socially committed in the 3rd Challenge #BeTheChange, named as “De La Mano” (Hand in hand), had the opportunity of traveling to Madrid and living a social experience. The group visited social enterprises and foundations, and held meetings with people belonging to the political sphere as well as young people who have started out in the path of social entrepreneurship. Thanks to all the advice, great insights and strategies the group was provided with, this was a very inspirational, this has been a very inspirational and enriching social experience that will help them implement their proposal for change.
1st #BeTheChange Camp. ESD gets consolidated in CYL through a project consisting in providing training for a team of instructors in order to qualify them to develop the scheduling of recreational and leisure activities. These activities must include aspects related to the SDG, imbalances between North and South and development of global competences. This will result in the establishment of a camp that will take place during 2022 summer. The camp subject will allow to address all this type of matters and will encourage participants to come up with initiatives that contribute to redressing existing inequalities in today’s world, in particular in the most impoverished countries.
In cooperation with the Bishopric of Camagüey, we have started a project named “De la Mano contigo” (Hand in hand with you), whose goal is the setting up of a repair and maintenance shop for mobility aids and assistive devices intended for people with disabilities from all over the province of Camagüey. This project will benefit 500 families.
After ten years we can claim that the Family Counseling project in Russia has been consolidated. Through all these years, our main goal has been to offer the participant married couples a way of helping them acknowledge the current situation of their marital life and improve as individuals, spouses and parents.
Furthermore, this course intends to offer insights, reasons and means to lay firmly the foundations for their marital relationship from the very beginning.
