Bolivia

Improvement of quality of life through equitable and sustainable access to drinking water and sanitation in 2 rural indigenous communities of the municipality of San Ignacio de Velasco (Bolivia)

The project aims to provide water to 100% of the population in the 2 communities. With that goal in mind, it is proposed to drill an artesian well for water and set up a pumping system in the Community 16 de Agosto as well as extend the water mains network with household water connections for all the households in the community Santa Rosita del Carmen. This will also contribute to the Right to Sanitation (SDG 6) and Quality Education (SDG 4) through building of gender-segregated toilets and basic installations for hand washing in the schools belonging to both communities. Good hygiene practices, disease prevention, such as COVID-19, and responsible water use will also be promoted through training for beneficiaries
