Food Security

Bolivia

Integrated Project for ensuring food supply for indigenous families vulnerable to food insecurity (VAM), living in rural communities in the South of Bolivia

The project is being developed in the Poroma municipality, one of the 5 poorest municipalities of Bolivia. the project focuses on the people who are most vulnerable to food insecurity and hunger, and its consequences, i.e. it will work with women and children (providing direct support to 576 families), since these are the people among which extreme poverty predominates. these will be the areas of intervention:
• Basic services: access to safe drinking water.
• Food sovereignty: access to decent and adequate food.
• Environment protection: natural resources management, and risk and disaster prevention and management, in order to reduce their vulnerability.
