United Kingdom
Jersey

Integration of young immigrants in England

TARGET: The Jersey project for personal development of young people between 10-12 years is an activity that allows young people to experience a new environment, and a change in their style of life London or in their country of origin. It also creates positive bonds of friendship between them.
MAIN ACTIVITIES: A weeklong stay in the Isle of Jersey sharing their talents and experiences with other girls in a place other than their own culture.
IMPACT: One of the most important areas of this project is to encourage young people to develop positive relationships through new friendships with their environment and with older locals of the island, by sharing social activities, volunteer work and household duties. This requires commitment for group work, leadership and motivation. It provides the girls with capabilities that will continue into their adulthood.
